Georgian Silver Wick Trimmers 1816
These work like a pair of scissors to extinguish the candle-this pair is tightly sprung so when opened they snap shut on the wick. Also referred to as candle snuffers.The example here was made in 1816 and is finely hand chased with floral decoration,and then gold plated( very little wear to the gilt ).Hallmarked on both sections.
