English Sterling Silver Toddy Lifter 1840

A  Sterling Silver toddy lifter made in London 1840 by George Frederick Pinnell. Chased floral and leaf decoration.Hallmarked on the side( shown) and underneath. 140 mm tall; 140 grams.

A Toddy Lifter is used to transpose alcohol from a Serving Rummer or Punch Bowl held in the centre of the table into your glass. You place the toddy lifter into the liquid and let the reservoir at the base fill. Place you finger over the small hole at the top and move to the glass and release, emptying the contents into the glass.
