3 Piece "Bachelor" size Britannia SilverTea Set 1922

Hallmarked on all 5 pieces, as well as on the lids of the tea and coffee pots and the hinged flap covering the teapot spout, with matching hallmarks.3 pieces made in 1918, the other two in 1919, all by the same maker.

Britannia standard silver is 95.8% pure as compared with Sterling which is 92.5% pure.The alloys used to harden the silver have varied over time.The analysis of these metals is used to help assess the age of  pieces which are unmarked or have lost their hallmarks due to restoration or excessive polishing.
