Originally commissioned by the Duke of Argyle,these were made to keep the gravy warm.The innner tube is filled with hot water and the surround was filled up with the gravy.Hallmarked underneath(shown) , inside the cover, the inner tube and the pull off cover of the inner tube.Dark brown fruitwood handle and finial.
